Software Engineer

Job Summary: 

Participates in the design, coding and testing efforts for telecommunications software applications. This position will work on team activities including product system engineering and architecture, as well as assisting in the definition of embedded software architectures (system, user, control and management plane.)

Job Requirements: 

This software engineering position will be a part of the Plano, TX development team working on GENBAND's Media Gateways.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• 3-10 years embedded software development experience in a telecommunications environment.
• Experience should include having taken a product through the entire life cycle.
• Strong knowledge of VxWorks preferred
• Ability to complete and deploy new technologies
• Experienced in Object Oriented development methodologies
• Strong knowledge of telephony signaling protocols, such as SIP, H.248, IP, Wireline and/or Wireless protocols
• Ability to perform in multi-process/multi-tasking and/or real time environment
• Experienced with fault tolerance and high availability system designs
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Education:  

BS/CS or MS/CS
